Inhabiting the swamps and rainforests of the world, frogfolk are a curious and affable species deeply rooted in mysticism. Most stay within their tribes, enjoying nature to the clutter of civilization. Yet, despite their reclusive nature, frogfolk are considered to be among the most welcoming of the Other Worlders to the New Humans, as their faith compels them to render aid whenever possible. Thus, it is not uncommon to find frogfolk druids, alchemists, and shamans that setup shop just outside major pockets of civilization. Likewise, some tadpoles, even more courageous, take up the call of the adventurer.
Physical Characteristics
Frogfolk are generally shorter, ranging between four to five feet tall at their full height. They range in color, from the deep, spotted red-and-blue, to green, to a toady, warty brown.
Their average lifespan in the wild is around 60 years, but that may be due to harsh conditions and natural predators. In urban centers, some frogfolk have lived up to 100 years, and I’ve heard rumors of some alchemists reaching 150.
Temperament
They are naturally good-hearted and good-willed, yet simultaneously reserved; in other words, quick to help but slow to trust. However, once their loyalty is won, it is rarely lost.
Known Population Centers
Frogfolk can be found in small tribes across the planet, but have major concentrations in deserts, rainforests, and swamps, such as the Mojave Desert, the Amazon Rainforest, the Rainforest of Xishuangbanna, the Sudd, and the Z’iquan Ziggurats.
Languages
Frogfolk speak the Old Worlder common tongue and the native language of their surroundings.
