Human

Highly adaptable, ingenuitive, and unpredictable, humanity has proven itself capable of mastering a variety of climes, and this new world is no different. They are the dominant race in the world, equaling about 40% of the spread of the world’s sentient species, with other races combining to form the remaining 60%.

Feeling dazed and light-headed, but still alive and healthy, which is a relief, seeing as I just traveled through a cosmic, blue wormhole. Anna is with me, and what seems like a lot of the folks from my block. Every person I’ve spoken with is from Baltimore, so there seems to be something location-based to our transportation. Still trying to piece together what’s going on, but the good news is that a whole giga-warehouse’s worth of food was somehow transported with us, so no one is going to starve. There’s a river here with water, and the air is quite warm.

We might just make it through this.

Physical Characteristics

Humans typically range between five to six feet tall. Their skin ranges from pale to very dark, and their hair ranges from pale blond to red to brown to black.

Temperament

The once outnumbered Other Worlder humans now find themselves the dominant species since the Merge, thanks to the influx of new souls from Earth. Still, both groups of humans have found themselves struggling to adapt to their new environment – and to each other. Other Worlder humans tend to be suspicious and less trusting of others, but more accustomed to strangeness and other races. However, since the geography of this new planet so closely resembles Earth, they often find themselves spatially disoriented. Earthers often seem as newborn lambs, unable to comprehend the strange new reality.

One year in. By some miracle, we didn’t lose anyone. There were some challenges, like when those sentient plants decided we were encroaching on their territory, but it hasn’t been the cataclysmic event I expected.

Surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly), the biggest troubles we’ve had have been with the “other” humans. They are, at best, taciturn, and, more commonly, quite rude. People not getting along–it’s a tale as old as time, I guess.

José, my next-door neighbor from Earth has been trying to convert them to Catholicism without success. The frog people seem genuinely interested, however.

What a strange world we live in.

Languages

English is the most popular language spoken among humans.

“Common”, what the Other Worlder humans speak, sounds a lot like Latin. Perhaps that is why they seem most comfortable with the Italians. I’ll never get over seeing a wild-looking man in full chainmail chowing down on bolognese at Lucenzo’s new restaurant.
